Cafes and courtyards

Lafayatte
Lafayette
Paris is full of big name shops and exuberant architecture - keeps you craning your neck (in my case, my still very sore neck!) to see everything. There are also quiet corners where you can take a break from all the activity, and I love to find those places. Saroj and I ate and drank way, way too much today - in part because we kept finding some of those 'time-out' spots, in part because it was such a lovely, warm day.

Petit Palais courtyard

At the Petit Palais garden tearoom

I had the coffee :)

Petit Palais courtyard

Big door for a Petit Palais

Along the Champs Elysee - fancy shops....

....car dealers....

....Laduree, the famous patisserie.....

......a sample....

.....the Laduree sidewalk cafe.

Musee de la Vie Romantique.....home of George Sand....

We had lunch in the pretty courtyard - quiche and salad and bread pudding

So peaceful

So French :)

From simple......

...to elaborate. This is Lafayette department store.

Nice display :)

Looking down from our windows - note the sunbathers on the roof below

At one of the cafes below.......our waiter - not as arrogant as he looks here :)

Saroj had moules for dinner

I had the onion soup.....and yes, that's more wine!

  1. You don`t need to defend drinking wine in Paris Mum. ;)
