Louvres and louvers

Saroj is having lots of fun with the electric window shutters (I call them 'rolladen' because that's what we used to call them years ago when we lived in Germany) in the bedroom. The electric louvers solve the privacy issue though, as well as providing total darkness if you want to sleep in. They're awesome! Why don't we use these louvers in Canada?
The sun was shining so we toured past the Shakespeare bookstore and Notre Dame over to the Swarovski Paris Haute Couture exhibit. The dresses from the past were exquisite  - see some of them here   http://www.vogue.co.uk/news/2013/02/28/swarovski-paris-haute-couture-exhibition---paris-fashion-week-dior-ysl-lanvin. As the clouds rolled in, we headed for the Louvre for the afternoon. Not just a museum any more, there are now lovely restaurants and even a mall (the Carrousel) attached so you can shop Swarovski and Fragonard and Apple. Yes, you can even buy a computer at the Louvre. We admired the mini ipads and thought how handy one would be as we tour the city. It's really hard to see the tiny maps on the iphone :)
We decided that the onion soup in the Louvre restaurants was far better reason to visit the museum than Mona. We'd both seen her before, and she was just as disappointing the second time round!

Much more satisfying.....

.....than Mona!!
