Across the Seine

My apartment is in the 7th arrondissement of Paris, the section with the Eiffel Tower. The city is divided into 20 parts, starting with 1 in the middle and curling around and around like a snail the numbers increase as you go further out towards the Peripherique, the ring road. The river Seine crosses through the middle. If I walk a few blocks to the river, and cross, I come to Arr. 8, where many of the big name fashion houses have headquarters. The Canadian embassy is located here too, on Avenue Montaigne. Just out my door, and down a narrow alley, is Rue Cler where you can find all sorts of things.

The narrow alley that leads to Rue Cler - note the Arrondissement designation on the top - impossible to get lost :)

The golden street of designer shops, and of the president's palace - in the 8th Arr.

Flower shop on Rue Cler

Sweets to eat - and to sit on :)

Another sweet shop

Cozy cafe on Rue Cler

One of the cheese shops

You can even get Eiffel Tower shaped cheese!

Thinking of Joe ;)

And of course fruit and veg

There's a school.....

...a church....

...schoolkids....

....and more kids....

....and of course bakeries like this one.....

,,,,,or this one.....all within two minutes of my front door.

I noticed a lot of English-speaking young people in the nearby area - I guess this is why.

Moving day in Paris
