My apartment is in the 7th arrondissement of Paris, the section with the Eiffel Tower. The city is divided into 20 parts, starting with 1 in the middle and curling around and around like a snail the numbers increase as you go further out towards the Peripherique, the ring road. The river Seine crosses through the middle. If I walk a few blocks to the river, and cross, I come to Arr. 8, where many of the big name fashion houses have headquarters. The Canadian embassy is located here too, on Avenue Montaigne. Just out my door, and down a narrow alley, is Rue Cler where you can find all sorts of things.
